Hey All!
As a marketer, I often thought about how to help my blog visitors get value from the content more quickly. I felt it would be useful if readers could submit questions or interact with the content when they still had concerns after reading.
I wanted a simple widget-like tool that I can embed in a blog content page inline (so not a corner widget) that would help the reader summarize longer posts and allow them to ask a question.
I had 2 goals
1. Make it simple in context to get in touch with us (experts on the topic), so we can capture high-intent leads as soon as possible and maybe speed up conversion as a result.
2. Learn how high-intent visitors talk about a given topic, what words they use, or how they frame their problem.
This creates value in multiple ways:
You can use this data to inform new content ideas.
Shows what parts of the content to improve.
Gives you the keywords prospective customers use when describing their needs
Chat engages them, making them spend more time on the page
Both widgets can capture leads (emails), so you can send personalized outreach
I ended up creating ConvertSling, which is simple enough to be very easy to deploy, yet fulfills the goals above.
