I built Converters.live because every "free" file converter I tried buried the actual conversion behind a paywall, a forced account, or a watermark after the first file. This one doesn't - no sign-up, no limit on the number of conversions, no watermark, ever.
Under the hood: Node/Express backend with sharp (images), ffmpeg (video/audio) and LibreOffice headless (DOCX/XLSX/PPTX/PDF). The frontend is a statically pre-rendered React app - every conversion pair gets its own page in 12 languages, so it's fast and indexable without a heavy JS framework on first load. Uploaded files are deleted from the server the moment the converted file is sent back - nothing is stored.
Currently 120+ pairs across image (HEIC/JPG/PNG/WebP/AVIF/SVG/ICO/BMP/TIFF/GIF/PDF), video (MP4/WebM/MOV/MKV/AVI/WMV/FLV/M4V/GIF), audio (MP3/WAV/M4A/FLAC/OGG/AAC/WMA/Opus) and documents (DOCX/PDF/XLSX/PPTX/TXT/CSV), with more added as people ask.

Tried converting a MOV to MP4 and it handled a 1.5GB file without breaking a sweat. Love that nothing lingers on the server, that's the kind of detail that actually matters these days.

Love that the delete-on-download detail is right there on the landing page, it shows real respect for user privacy instead of burying it in some policy doc. 2GB cap with no account is a genuinely useful boundary too.
@glsmntu0 thank you 🙏 That was a deliberate call - if privacy only lives in a policy
doc nobody reads, it's not really a feature. So it goes right where you make
the decision. Same thinking with "no account": the moment you force a sign-up,
you're collecting data you don't need, so I just... didn't. Really appreciate
you noticing the intent behind it.
I convert a lot of media for work and usually bounce between three different
sites because each one paywalls a different format. Nice to have images, video,
audio AND documents in one place - and the up-to-2GB limit means I'm not
stuck splitting files first. Would love AVIF batch support down the line, but
this is already a keeper. Upvoted.
A bulk upload option would be huge, since right now I have to convert my photos one by one which gets old fast. Dragging a whole folder in and getting a zip of all the converted files would make this my go-to over the desktop apps I keep avoiding.
