Hi Product Hunt! Alex here, maker of convert.express. This started as my own annoyance: my wife struggled with interviews transcriptions and organising. And she couldn't find the right tool for her. So I built the tool she needed: transcription from files, links, audio or video in one place, powered by OpenAI Whisper and Microsoft MAI, with the subtitle utilities around it: SRT<>VTT conversion, timestamp shifting, plain-text export, transcription share, diarization, summarisation and translation. One decision that shaped the build: your files shouldn't linger anywhere. Everything you upload, every transcript generated is deleted automatically after 24 hours, and there's a button to wipe it all instantly if you don't want to wait. Processing needs the file on the server, but keeping it doesn't. The plan evolved along the way, I started with "just transcription" and realized the transcript is only half the job; what people actually need is a usable subtitle file at the end. That's what shaped the current tool suite. Everything's free to try, including 10 minutes of transcription daily, no signup needed for the tools.
