Context for Shopify

Hey hunters – I'm Mark, one of the creators of Context, a content personalization app for Shopify. I have to admit, I’m a little anxious about the fact that we’re putting this out into the world. 😬 We’ve worked on some pretty large e-commerce stores over the years. As a part of building out those stores, we’ve integrated personalization tools and strategies. In many cases, the tooling and development was outrageously expensive and challenging to implement. As a result, expertise, level of effort, and expense make personalization a barrier to entry for many small to medium sized e-commerce stores. The cost vs. return becomes a hurdle too high to clear. This was our 💡 moment. We believe that creating a personalized customer experience is so important, that we wanted to create something that any store could implement easily. We wanted to inspire and encourage organizations to dip their toes in, and start implementing simple strategies to improve experiences without getting overwhelmed, or breaking the bank. 🚀 Meet Context Context is an easy-to-use personalization app for Shopify, that allows you to change your storefront’s banners, images and marketing messages to reflect your customer’s current location, date, weather, campaign parameters (UTM), customer segments, and more. ⚙️ How does it work? After installing the Context app, you’ll have the ability to create multiple variations of your content, within a Context section. Then, with powerful rules you choose when the individual content variations are displayed, and to whom. For example, you could create variations of your hero block that display when specific criteria are met. We’ve launched with the following rules: 1. 🛒 Customer segments - (Display to a specific customer segment based on authentication) 2. 🏷️ UTM parameters - (Display variation based on specific campaign parameters) 3. 📅 Date Range - (Display variation during a specific time frame) 4. 🌎 Geo Location - (Display to customers from a specific location - down to the city level) 5. 🌤️ Weather - (Display when the weather is, or is going to be "X" for the customer) 6. Many more to come All of these rules can be combined with each other too. For example you may want to display a promotion to customers from Denver, Colorado (location rule) between a certain timeframe (date range rule) OR show a promotion to visitors from Seattle, Washington (location rule), when the rain is forecasted in the next 7 days (weather rule). The customizations can be very powerful.  We don’t want to pretend like we’ve nailed it. We still have lots of great features and improvements planned, but we need your feedback. What do you like?
