Brighton-based sustainable design studio Gomi has released an environmentally-friendly 12,000mAh Portable Charger made from 100% non-recyclable plastic waste, with 100% of the power coming from repurposed batteries saved from otherwise going to landfill
We were pretty frustrated by how unsustainable consumer tech industry is. So we set out to make some truly sustainable tech. The charger is made with rescued plastic waste that is usually not recycled like food packaging, bubble wrap, pallet wrap etc.
The internal batteries are also rescued from going to waste. Battery manufactures may have misprinted them or have small cosmetic errors, due to this, they have rejected them. So we are rescuing these perfectly fine batteries and using them in the products.
