Hey Product Hunt! 👋
The idea behind Codex Skin Studio started with a simple question: if Codex is where we spend long coding sessions, why should every workspace feel the same?
The hard part was not just changing colors. Each theme needed its own Home, Task, and Diff scenes, component-level details, protected reading areas, and a reliable way back to the official look.
Today, the public beta includes 41 original themes and two ways to use them:
✨ Choose a theme on the website and open its prepared request directly in Codex. No App installation is required for this path.
⚡ Install the free macOS or Windows App once, then browse the library, switch themes, pause styling, or restore the official appearance in one click.
The theme runtime stays local and reversible. Codex Skin Studio is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI.
I would love your feedback:
1. Which theme would you actually use every day?
2. Which path is more useful to you: opening a theme through Codex, or switching with the App?
3. What visual style should we build next?
Thanks for checking it out!

Finally gave this a spin on my mac and the restore to official look button is honestly a lifesaver, no fiddling with files or anything weird. Picked the dark one for tasks and it just feels easier on the eyes after a few hours.

@tubakocatru7ag Thanks for giving it a try on your Mac! The one-click restore was designed to make experimenting feel safe—no file editing or cleanup needed. Really glad the dark Task theme is easier on your eyes.

the way you scoped this to just Home, Task, and Diff shows real restraint, and having the one-click revert to the official look is honestly the kind of detail that makes me trust the team behind it

@evrenmesut52520 That means a lot—thank you. Keeping the scope to Home, Task, and Diff was intentional: we wanted the most-used areas to feel different while keeping everything predictable and easy to undo. Glad that came through.
