CodeOnline is an online IDE with a powerful and secure remote workspace. It is based on a web version of Visual Studio Code, which connects to your own private Linux workspace in the Cloud, without any restrictions.
CodeOnline just has just launched 🚀
With the fast internet speed and modern security standards nowadays, coding on a powerful remote and secure workspace is the new way to go.
What do you think of this new concept? Try it out for yourself and let me know what you think of it.
Such a great idea that I think a lot of developers find useful! Left some more feedback for you here too on landing page that might help conversions - https://app.usebubbles.com/e4c62...
I love it! Have been using goormIDE for a while now! Would love to be able to use VS's interface instead. Pricing is quite high though compared to the competition.
@gansernathan Thanks for your reaction. I would say that the pricing is different as the specs are way higher compared to goormIDE. But good point that the basic plan is maybe a little on the high side. I'll reconsider the plans and pricing.
Thanks all for your feedback. Last weeks we've worked hard with our new datacenter provider and now I'm trilled to announce that CodeOnline is now a free for everyone!

hey there; congrats on launch ! Why should i use this instead of codesandbox.io/ ?
@francoolaami Codesandbox uses a limited in-browser workspace, so everything is running still on your machine. CodeOnline workspaces are remote and therefor have the power of cloud computing to give you a powerful unlimited workspace with a fast internet connection.

@steven166 i always thought codesandbox is on the cloud

@divyanshunegi There isn't support for that on an iPad yet. So for now I would recommend to start some kind of file server on your workspace to upload files. For example nextcloud:
1. Open the terminal
2. Start nextcloud with docker: docker run -v $(pwd)/my-data:/var/www/html -p 8080:80 nextcloud
3. Access it via http://.code.codeonline.io:8080
