Hide apps during screen shares – keep your desktop private

Cloakly is a lightweight Windows app that lets you hide sensitive windows like personal messages, banking tabs, or distractions during screen shares on Zoom, Teams, Discord, or OBS. Unlike basic workarounds like alt-tabbing or virtual desktops, hidden apps stay fully usable and visible only to you, no interruptions to your workflow.

Hey Product Hunt! πŸ‘‹ I'm Javier, the solo dev behind Cloakly. Built this in Rust to solve my own pain of accidental leaks during SaaS demos and client calls. No more scrambling to close app. Just seamless privacy. What's your worst screen share horror story? Excited for your feedback! πŸš€

This is such a thoughtful app, well done! I always get so worried that my WhatsApp notifications will pop off when I screen-share during an interview.

@nicc666Β Thanks, Nicole! Interviews are stressful enough without worrying about personal notifications. Cloakly was designed specifically to keep those private moments private so you can focus on the task at hand. Good luck with your next one!

@nicc666Β I kept your interview scenario in mind while working on the latest update! I’ve just added a PiP (Picture-in-Picture) live preview mode. Now, while you're presenting, you can see a small window showing exactly what is being hidden, so you can be 100% certain those WhatsApp notifications aren't visible. πŸ›‘οΈ

@javiergoodall99 this is great! Thanks so much!

πŸ’‘ Bright idea

A nice focused app! Reminds me of @Muzzle - they had a super funny launch and site. It seems like this would be a little cumbersome to configure at the beginning of each call - do you have settings that you can remember? Any chance this is coming to Mac sometime?

Javier Goodall

@rajiv_ayyangarΒ Thanks so much for the kind words. We are still working on the settings/persistence side of things to make sure it’s a 'set it and forget it' experience rather than something you have to fiddle with before every call.

As for Mac, it’s definitely in the plans! I’m focused on perfecting the Windows version first, but macOS is the very next stop. Thanks for the support!

Javier Goodall

@rajiv_ayyangar Just wanted to circle back and let you know that I've just shipped an update for this! You can now "Favorite" the apps you always want hidden. It’s now officially a "set it and forget it" experience, your settings will persist every time you open your laptop. Thanks again for the nudge on that!
