@ourielohayon Ad blocking is certainly something we keep our eyes on. We knew that iOS 9 was going to shake things up here so we've been taking a wait-and-see approach. It feels like a different product entirely, so we may just settle for recommending one to our users. We're in the "bootstrapped profitable and proud" category, so our model is to build good tools that people find useful.
@ourielohayon Yeah, bananas about Peace. One of the things we struggled with was whether it would be ethical to _charge_ for an ad blocker, particularly on a recurring basis. My feeling is probably not; we'd probably make it available whether or not you had a paid account.
@sethlouey Thanks, all! @robinsonetc is one of my co-founders and the prime mover behind Cloak's design. All glory goes to him; all yuck goes to me. :-)

The thing that I dislike most about any "free trial" is when I am forced to register and login in order to have even the most basic experience of an app. Forcing me to not only register but to actually start the clock on the free trial before I have any kind of an experience is very restrictive. It's too much for me so I am out.
@dsmatichuk I don't like the friction but I don't think it's avoidable for Cloak. We need a way to authorize you to use our VPN network. Leaving a VPN network open for everyone in the world, sans credentials, would... lead quickly to sadness. (I should say that we *did* toy with cleverer techniques to delay creating an account even *given* the issues here, but none of them were successful to the extent that they made the experience smoother *and* protected our network from rampant abuse.)

been using Cloak for a while now... good to have it back on my phone (didn't work on beta) but it's great.

Cloak is a must-have app for anyone who values security and privacy, especially those who work in public places like cafes, libraries or co-working spaces. It also serves as a helpful web development tool for when you need to ping your server from another location.
@mscccc Cloak 3 for iOS 9 is the (iOS) VPN app we've always wanted to build but couldn't before. The objective with version 3 was to remove everything that annoyed us (and our customers) about the previous version, particularly the "sync settings" behavior.
@menjxo One last update -- the first public beta of Cloak for Android is now available! Feel free to grab it here https://play.google.com/store/ap... and definitely do let us know how it works for you. Cheers.
