I saw Brendon post about this product in the https://climateaction.tech community. Thought I would share since it's been pretty useful to me to so far, it's honestly pretty tough to find curated lists of companies and startups that are doing good stuff in the climate space so this resource is gold, check it out!

Great resource @bloudermilk! The thing I'd be most interested in is easier access to what these organizations are doing. For example an activity stream of updates or even a monthly newsletter could be a great way to see how each solution is progressing.
Brendan Loudermilk
@shylands thank you for checking us out and taking the time to give feedback! We love the idea of being able to track how each solution is progressing.

@bloudermilk @shylands I love this idea too! Maybe there could be a way for companies to submit their updates, in a feed-like thingy? Monthly newsletter would be great too.

@bloudermilk @bptstmlgt Yep! A really simple first test could be to get them to post updates with a twitter hashtag and then display those results.

Hey @bloudermilk, I love this website. Really wish there was a feature where I could input my location and see organizations near me, though
Brendan Loudermilk
@rebecca_ferrao thank you! This is a great idea–we'll definitely add it to our backlog :)

Massive thanks to @jawache for the hunt! We created Climatescape to highlight the organizations working to solve climate change. Our mission is to focus more attention on progress, directing support to teams on the front lines. We're an entirely non-profit, community-driven project. Our website is open source and our content is Creative Commons licensed. Everyone is welcome to contribute! We've already had some incredible feedback in the three short weeks since we went live. We're excited to launch here on PH and answer any questions you might have. We'd also love to learn more about those of you who find our project interesting. Tell us about your climate journey in the comments or pick the persona you most identify with in the poll.

Awesome work @bloudermilk! Given how hard organizations working on climate change can be to find, it's easy to think that there just aren't very many...this dispels that illusion, and I've found a bunch of really cool companies through Climatescape that I didn't know about before. Kudos.
Brendan Loudermilk
@_jlevers I totally know what you mean. When I first got interested in working on climate I assumed the only opportunities were in energy and transportation. Finding out that there was so much happening in other sectors like agriculture, carbon capture, food production, marine ecosystems, etc. was really eye opening. I hope Climatescape can bring this experience to others without all the intensive research I had to do!

Congrats @bloudermilk on the launch! With climate tech becoming so hot, this resource is incredibly useful. I've been using filters/tags so far to, for instance, figure out how to take direct personal action. But I'd love to see more of that. Maybe a section Get involved/Take action which could list the top 5 personal actions you can take right now with listed orgs: 1. Offset your flights with X, Y or Z 2. Cut your "foodprint" with A, B or C 3. Move your savings to a sustainable bank with D, E, F...
Brendan Loudermilk
@bptstmlgt thank you, happy this is helpful for you! I love the way you've positioned personal action there, tying it back to our organizations. That seems like a really clever way to do it :)

After reading Project Drawdown, I decided to make big changes in my personal and professional life. One turned out easier done that the other: searching for the right “green” organization is time consuming, frustrating, and bound to be incomplete when done alone. After navigating Climatescape, I know I now have the perfect aggregate tool to find my next dream job. Congrats @bloudermilk! Excited to see how it evolves. Will definitely help add more French companies to the directory
Brendan Loudermilk
@sophie_gallet thank you for your support, Sophie! We'd be delighted to add more French companies to our list
