Hey, I'm Joey, lead developer for Chippy!
ChatGPT has changed how we view our work (and its potential) but utilizing it is an experience that’s clunky at best.
We wanted to build a simple tool that fits seamlessly into how people browse the internet and could help make everyone's digital lives a little easier (and a little more fun).
Enter Chippy.
Chippy is a browser assistant for Chrome that brings AI to the websites you're already on. You can query Open AI API from any tab you're in or search the current page for more specific context. Answer questions, respond to emails, generate ideas, and much more–all without switching tabs.
Here are a few features we're excited to support at launch:
🧑💻 Query ChatGPT from any page you’re browsing without switching tabs.
🧠 Current page search: Refine your search to the current page for information past ChatGPT’s September 2021 knowledge cutoff.
💡 Suggested prompts: Chippy will get you started or help you dig deeper with relevant follow-up questions.
😌 Easy input: Skip the endless copy & paste, just open the extension and select the text you want Chippy to look at.
📧 Email responder: Open Chippy when you need help wording your emails.
📜 Translations: Just call on Chippy when you need something translated.
We wanted to build something that was easy-to-use, efficient, and most importantly, enjoyable. Try it out and let us know what you think 📎

Chippy is a refreshing browser extension that helps you ask questions to ChatGPT without leaving your current browser window. I like to use Chippy when I'm reading an long-form web article and there's something mentioned that I want to look up quickly or get some more details about. (OK I'll level with you, that includes looking up words when I don't know what they mean.)
Thank you Chippy — always edifying, never obsequious. That's all anyone ever wanted from an anthropomorphic paperclip.
I love Chippy! I turn to Chippy when I want to sift through the bs/ads of the internet to get to the actual content or if I need to learn more about what I'm reading (last week he refreshed my memory by teaching me algebra[why, how, when] for creating a responsive font-size calculation), or if I need help writing an email. He's also hella cute, thanks chippy!
Big fan of Chippy! My favorite feature is ability to ask questions about the contents of the current page you're browsing on, which is especially useful for developer documentation (or if you just want a summary of a long article). It's also fantastic for drafting emails, etc.
