The puzzle at the core of Chess Peace is genuinely original: place one of each chess piece on an irregular board so no piece can take another. Rather than the conflict of traditional chess, here players find Chess Peace. It works for non-chess players and experts. It contains 26,500 puzzles of 3 difficulties across 5 modes, each a twist on the core rule, plus free Daily Puzzles. I'm a TV quiz producer, as well as a chess, puzzle & tech lover. This is my first app, built entirely independently.
I built Chess Peace because, as soon as I came up with the puzzle, I wanted to play it. As a TV quiz producer, I am used to shaping games and puzzles for people, so wanted to make this the best and clearest possible experience for my users, and ensure that both chess players and beginners can play. I'm proud that the opening tutorial (skippable, as it should be) and ever-available reminders of piece movement make this possible, and TestFlight users have confirmed that it is a fun and compelling puzzle even for those who have never played chess.
I'd love to hear all of your experiences, across the spectrum of chess knowledge!
