As someone who has run a boostrapped eCommerce fulfillment center for the past few years and worked across most industires - we also do FBA Prep, subscription boxes, kickstarter launches, etc. I'd love to better understand the economics of this. We tried doing a flat-rate (not $1 but low) and it didn't work at scale. Clients abuse storage, clients needs change, etc.
I hope this works out - it'd be revolutionary if it does at scale but I can't imagine how from the outside.
@barrettshepherd Yes, when you offer low rates you do risk the abuse of storage. This is one thing we are very particular about. We do not automatically approve every applicant. Our team takes a full look at the company and we make a business decision if it would be a great idea to work with them or not. We only accept clients that we know are moving x amount of units a day. We calculate how much inventory they should ship in, as there are long-term storage fees in place to avoid customer abuse. We are an order fulfillment center, not a warehouse. For us customers cannot exceed more than 25% of additional inventory compared to their sales for the month, without potentially incurring a long-term fee of 15 cents per unit.
Hey 👋🏼
I've always had a strange passion for order fulfillment. It's a sign of success for my business. The difficult part is when you have 700+ orders to fulfill in a single day and it takes up all your time. 3PL's are effective but not cost efficient as it eats into your margins. Hiring employees can give you more control but that's yet another task you've assigned to yourself that is taking away from growing your company further + it's a headache to manage warehouse workers.
The industry average is $2.96 for one-item packaging and we can save businesses thousands of dollars each month by charging $1 flat rate. We think order fulfillment companies should work with eCommerce companies, not against it.
CheeShip also features a generous referral program to where any business you refer to us that we agree to work with, you will be paid $1,000 after their first 30 days.
@cmwilson15 I think you're getting a negative reaction because you're not explaining how you're able to offer 3PL services for 3x less than they typically cost.
If you could explain:
"we're able to offer this cheap rate because we do X differently than the typical company. That lowers our costs, and lets us offer you the same service for less."
that would go a long way

Hi @cmwilson15 can you show me where your Mexico's wharehouse is located? Can you offer same day or one day shipping for a e-commerce?

Okay I guess my question then is are the images used 3D renderings of a warehouse (https://www.istockphoto.com/phot...) and from a stock image site and not a frisk images from your warehouse

The more I read the comments, the more I see that the "no catch" does have a catch. The catch is that most businesses will be turned down, so it's like a really cheap and affordable shop that doesn't allow most people in.
@sim_uk It could be a nightmare if your highest percentage of customers are outside the United States. International shipping for us will range from $10-15 depending on the destination, whereas it is much cheaper to ship within the United States. We are looking at setting up offices in the United Kingdom and Australia, so that we can offer cheaper International shipping rates. However, I'm not able to give you a timeline on that as it's not a simple process. I can only hype you up that one day there will be offices in the UK and Australia.

@sim_uk@cmwilson15 My answer is customs is a nightmare and the tax man always wins in this case.
