Chapeau is a page layout app that runs in your browser. Write in Markdown, place text, images and shapes on real pages, flow a story through linked frames, and export a print-ready PDF or a 300 dpi PNG. Free, no account, and it works offline.

Hey Product Hunt,
I am Antonio, and I made Chapeau because I wanted to lay out a document from my living room on my old laptop, and it couldn't run desktop publishing software. So I built a page layout tool that runs in a browser tab, with the tools you reach for most in the smallest footprint possible.
It's for anything you print: cards, flyers, menus, zines, programmes, rulebooks... A project can be a single page or run to many. There's nothing to sign up for. Open the link and you're on a page.
A few things in it:
All text is Markdown. Drop a .md file onto a page and it lands as a styled text frame, with headings, lists and tables.
Linked frames, columns and text wrap, so one story flows across pages and around pictures.
Print-ready PDF from the browser's print dialog: vector text, embedded fonts, exact paper size and bleed. It's free, export included.
No account, no cookies, no analytics. Your documents stay in your browser, the app works offline, and a .chapeau file takes a project to another machine.
You can read what it can do in more detail in the guide.
What do you lay out your documents in today, and what would Chapeau need to replace it? Every missing feature or rough edge you name goes on my list.
