@miscalzoncillos Cheaper, yes. Easier, no. If it would be easier, why are cashiers at the supermarket no longer typing in the prices of the products, but scanning them?
@miscalzoncillos@vverweij Save 30 seconds per album, imagine you have, say 100 albums, thats close to an hour of time saved. If I were a Spotify user I would definitely get that! :)
Thanks for posting, Bram. This iPhone app allows you to transfer your CD collection to your Spotify account. Just scan the compact disc barcode and it will be added to your Spotify playlist. A feature I thought should have been in the Spotify-app to begin with, but it isn't.
For all those old people out there who still have a pile of CDs. There's no need to manually search for songs, artist or albums. Save yourself some time, just scan and listen. The integrated barcode scanner allows you to add all your CDs to Spotify with the press of a button. Any questions? I'm here to answer them.
@jcvangent If the exact same album is not available, it will look for a similar album, for example a different edition. If it can't find anything at all, it will throw an error message, saying 'album not found' or 'not available on Spotify'
@jcvangent That would most likely be considered illegal by Apple and I would risk being kicked out of the App Store. However, you can take your phone to a record store and start scanning CDs there. Totally legal :-)
@grooveplex A couple of hundred, yes. There's a defunct web service that used to offer this feature called Covify. They promised an iPhone app but never delivered. So I decided to build one myself.
