Hi there PH community! My name is David and I'm the Chief Creative Officer here at Catbird. I'm excited to officially launch our product after a wildly successful beta, which saw us grow to over 300K users and profitability without any marketing spend. This showed us that the appetite for simple, beautiful, and powerful interface on top of the latest and greatest AI image models has the power to bring generative visuals to a mass market. Especially independent and solo creators who don't have the time to become AI experts or integrate complex tools into their workflows. By seamlessly blending the most important features that already exist in creative tools, like Pinterest-style mood boards, Shutterstock-quality images, and Canva-style text overlays, we've landed on a turnkey solution that wasn't possible before AI. It's mobile-friendly, and hopefully, intuitively accessible to all creators - musicians, solopreneurs, social media marketers, bloggers/journalists, Shopify/Etsy store owners, meme pages, and anyone else who needs cohesive visuals for their brand or products. Today, folks are stuck using a disjointed suite of traditional, expensive, and bloated tools to hack together their visual brands. We hope to change that! We'd love to hear what you think of Catbird, specifically compared to other image generators you've tried, as well as to legacy visual design or inspo apps you may use! Congratulations on Catbird's successful beta and explosive growth! I'm curious, in your journey to create Catbird, what inspired you the most to bridge the gap between complex design tools and independent creators?

@heleana great question, and this was the crux of our confidence entering this space. It happened sort of serendipitously by talking to family and friends. Because the UI/UX was so simple, the biggest feedback I heard from Gen z and younger millennials was “oh, this is like Pinterest”. Which led to an internal discussion about what Catbird was at its core. There are lots of image generators, and lots of creative tools for “normal” creators, but while each sector is crudely integrating half baked tools, we decided to double down on our AI-first tool and transform it into a next gen creative solution for folks who don’t need all the complex tech, but need streamlined options for everyday visual design. Learning how annoying it is to license and purchase perfect stock images, and learning how addictive mood boarding is on Pinterest (which is full of copyrighted images and doesn’t have an export button), we felt the pull of PMF.
