Hey everyone 👋
I’m really excited (and honestly a bit nervous) to share CashMate today.
This app started from a very personal place. A few years ago I was running a small software company in Nepal with friends. We had no clients at the time, money was tight, and I needed a simple way to track expenses so I could actually understand where things were going.
I tried a lot of apps. Some were too complex, some had ads everywhere, and some locked useful features behind subscriptions. That’s completely fair from a business perspective, but it didn’t fit what I needed at that moment. I just wanted something simple, private, and reliable.
So we decided to build it ourselves. That’s how CashMate – Manage Your Finance was born.
What started as a small internal tool somehow grew into something people around the world started using. Over the past 4+ years we’ve reached nearly 9,000 downloads and around 2,000 monthly active users, all without marketing or funding. That alone has been incredibly motivating.
One thing we’ve stayed very strict about:
• No ads
• Completely free
• No signups
• No servers storing financial data
• Everything stays on your device
• Optional Google Drive backup
There’s no catch. We’re not selling data, there’s no subscription funnel, and no hidden monetisation. The philosophy has always been simple: financial tools should be accessible, private, and stress-free.
Right now I’m working on improving the app again with a better UI and smarter insights, while keeping the same core simplicity.
I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts, feedback, and ideas. What would make an expense tracker truly useful for you?
Thanks so much for checking it out ❤️
