The 135ms latency is the number that matters most here. For real time voice agents anything above a couple hundred milliseconds starts to feel like talking to a machine, so keeping it this low is what makes back and forth conversation actually work. Pairing that speed with voice cloning and emotion control is a strong combination. Tested the demo and the responsiveness held up well.
I've been testing Cartesia Sonic, and I wanted to share my feedback.
Overall, I'm impressed with the quality of the Indonesian text-to-speech. The voices sound quite natural, especially compared to many other TTS services I've tried. It's clear that you've made great progress in supporting the Indonesian language.
One thing I noticed is that there are currently only two Indonesian voice optionsβone male and one female. I tested the female voice, and while it sounds fairly natural, it still feels a little stiff in some sentences and emotional expressions.
I hope that in the future, Cartesia Sonic will offer more Indonesian voice options, with different speaking styles, tones, and personalities. Indonesia has a large and growing community of content creators, businesses, educators, and AI developers who would greatly benefit from a wider selection of high-quality Indonesian voices.
Based on my experience, I think Cartesia Sonic is definitely worth trying. The Indonesian TTS quality is already quite good, and I believe it has the potential to become one of the best solutions available as the voices continue to improve.
