Apple Music's Recently Played only keeps your last few songs, so the track you loved last Tuesday is gone by Friday. Caltunes saves every song you play in Apple Music on a calendar. Open any day, see what played and play it again. Import years of history from Apple's privacy export, save albums and playlists, and get a music report every month. For anyone on Apple Music who's ever lost a song. On iPhone, iPad and Mac.

Hey Product Hunt π
Ever heard a song on Tuesday and by Friday it's gone from Recently Played? Apple Music only keeps your last few plays, so that track you loved quietly disappears. It kept happening to me, so I built Caltunes.

π Every song, on a calendar
Caltunes saves every song you play in Apple Music with the day and time it played. Open any day and play it again right in the app.
βͺ Go back years, not days
Apple keeps your full play history, it just doesn't show it to you. Import it once and every play lands on the day it happened. Mine goes back to 2019, about 23,000 plays of songs I'd completely forgotten π€―
π Your month in music
On the 1st of every month you get a report: plays, listening time, top artists and your busiest days.
πΎ Keep what you love
Save albums and playlists so they stay, even if they leave your Apple Music library.
Works on iPhone, iPad and Mac. You'll need an Apple Music subscription.
What's the oldest song you'd want to find again? I read every comment π
This is one of those apps that solves a tiny annoyance I didn't realize bothered me until I saw it.. :)
How reliable is the Apple export for reconstructing the exact day and time of older plays?
@andrasczeizelΒ The day is spot on. Apple's export lists every track with the date and how many times you played it, and Caltunes places each play on that exact day. Mine goes back to 2019, about 23,000 plays. Exact times are the one gap, since the export often leaves them out for older plays. But from the day you install Caltunes, every new play is saved with its real time.
Does it catch plays from other devices too, like a HomePod or the car, or only what plays where Caltunes is installed?
@adamvisuΒ Great question! It catches them. Caltunes reads your Apple Music listening history, which follows your Apple ID, not the device. So plays in the car through CarPlay, on your Mac, iPad, or a HomePod all land on your calendar.
The only catch with HomePod: "Use Listening History" needs to be on in the Home app, otherwise Apple doesn't record those plays at all.
