hey! my name is mike, i'm a solo developer from canada. i often find myself getting into vibes when it comes to listening to music. whether i'm working, driving, or getting active, it is difficult to curate and discover music based on my mood without distracting me. i've found the music streaming algorithms aren't for me, and the curated playlists on the platform are repetitive. so i made cadenza, a mobile app which allows everybody to easily discover, create, and collaborate on unique public playlists for every vibe, mood, or theme. the idea came from the r/musicsuggestions subreddit, where users work together to suggest music based on a request. i found it extremely helpful to use, but lacked a lot of the features i wanted to easily access music for any given moment. here's what cadenza does to make this easier: 🎵 playlists for everything. find playlists for any feeling, genre, thought, vibe, mood, and more. ⏩ skip the algorithm. every playlist is uniquely created by curations from across the cadenza community, including your own. 🧭 find your playlist. easily discover unlimited playlists by name, or explore those featuring your favourite songs and artists. ⬇️ take the music with you. download your playlists directly to your spotify and apple music library.

hey @ni_e_sha! if you open up any playlist in cadenza, there's a big pink play button. click that to download it to apple or spotify. you'll probably be prompted to connect to the service the first time you press it.

@mikerowave got it. It was really easy to connect both Spotify and Apple Music. This is really cool. I really like the leaderboard and can’t wait to really dig it and create some lists!!!!! Also I love that you can just play the music thru the app. Great job on this!

hey @orysia_khimiak! spotify recommendations are algorithm-driven. their system tries to make a best guess for a recommendation you would probably enjoy based on long-term listening activity and what is in your library/playlists. cadenza is user-driven, meaning all songs and playlists come from other users, and it is up to you to go out and find the playlists that best fit your current mood.

Congrats on the launch I was just looking for something like this. You are right the algorithms suck and the curated playlists are redundant.
