One decision we're working through with Butla is how much initiative a personal butler should take once it knows your preferences.
Imagine you've given it a standing instruction to arrange your usual ride to dinner, within a spending limit. If the price rises or your plans change, when should it stop and check with you?
The same question comes up with buying a birthday gift, following up on an email, or moving something in your calendar. What feels helpful in one situation can feel intrusive in another.
Hello, Product Hunt. We’re opening Butla to everyone.
The ambition is personal service that follows through. You should be able to describe what you want to happen, then work with your butler to get it done across your digital and physical life.
Start with a request such as: “I need to finish this proposal and still make dinner with my family. Help me put both in motion.”
Butla brings the work around that request together:
• Research, documents, and connected apps for the work itself.
• Plans that lead into bookings and purchases, with checkout inside Butla.
• Skills and reminders for work you want repeated.
• Trackers and timely recommendations that help you act on useful patterns.
• Butler-to-butler coordination, with approval from each person before a discussion and action begins.
• Vision, translation, and relevant suggestions when you arrive somewhere new.
You keep a say in the actions that need your approval. A request starts a conversation; it does not give blanket permission to spend or contact people.
Beyond the app, Butla Ring brings sleep, movement, and heart readings into your trackers. Butla One is a robotic arm for chores and keeping your home and office in order. You can purchase and explore both on our website.
Butla is developed by Alchymia AI (https://alchymia.ai), and the core models it runs on, Darkhorse and Grande Regent, are our own intellectual property. This gives us control over model development, customisation, and deployment, reducing our exposure to a potential competitor changing API access, pricing, or product priorities.
Their architectures also align with Butla’s requirements. Darkhorse selectively activates relevant experts and adjusts computation to the task, an approach suited to the mix of everyday requests and complex, multi-step work a personal butler handles. Grande Regent incorporates grounding and self-correction, capabilities that matter when recommendations and decisions lead to actions on someone’s behalf. Alchymia’s model architectures.
Owning these models allows us to improve them around Butla’s actual workloads, understanding personal context, reasoning through constraints, coordinating tasks, and knowing when to request permission. We develop the intelligence and the product together, with direct control over the trade-offs between capability, efficiency, and reliability.
Combined with Butla Business’s fulfilment infrastructure and Butla One’s physical assistance, this gives us a foundation spanning intelligence, execution, and distribution. Our model IP provides strategic independence and the ability to build lasting differentiation around how people actually use their butlers.
This opening follows 18 months in beta. We’d love to hear what you’d put your butler to work on first.
Butla. Live on your terms.
