Bunch is a macOS app that turns plain text files into powerful automations, all available from a menu bar with full love for keyboard access. Launch/quit apps, change system settings, and automate the various contexts you work in.

I have a "morning.bunch" text file that quits Slack and Mail, opens my terminal and browser to the right tabs, and switches my Mac to a specific display arrangement, all from one menu bar click. It's basically a script but I don't have to think in bash to write it - just headers and app names in a plain text file. The keyboard-only workflow (triggering bunches with a hotkey instead of clicking through the menu bar) is what actually made it stick for me.

The syntax is undocumented enough that I had to reverse-engineer some commands from example bunches on the site rather than a full reference page - a proper command list would save some trial and error.

I already had Alfred for launching apps and quick actions, but a Bunch is a whole scene switch - kill these three apps, open those two, set the display to this arrangement - rather than one action at a time. They ended up living side by side rather than one replacing the other.
