Software delivery as easy as ordering pizza

With Builder (by Engineer,ai), you don’t need to have any technical skills to create and build your next project, you just need an idea. Whereas most development companies charge for every line of code, Builders AI utilises existing components as well as design and business logic to produce your software, cheaper and instantly.

I’ve been searching for a way to outsource my product development for various side projects and ideas and like many have been through the pain of outsourcing. Enter Engineer.ai that provides an easy way to source talent, help curate design, implement and then maintain on an ongoing basis. Engineer.ai’s new Builder platform is the ‘One Ring to Rule Them All’. The platform leverages AI, a worldwide distributed team of engineers and an incredibly easy-to-use online menu to create any idea in 5 steps...and they guarantee that it will cost no more than the quoted amount which is about a ⅓ the cost of alternative development methods. Very impressed with what @sachinduggal and the team have accomplished here. Sachin maybe you could tell us a bit more about the inspiration and background to the product?

@jasondainter Thank you so much for sharing this! Four years ago, my co-founder and I started with a dream to be the connection between every great idea and them becoming a reality. The idea was to empower everyone to build ideas without wasting any time, money or resources. We were driven by the knowledge that only 3% of people today are successful in taking an idea to a live product. In order to make this a reality, we went back to the drawing board of how software is made. We looked at best practices across industries and landed on the magic Henry Ford did with his assembly line. With Builder we are applying this methodology to custom-built software by employing an AI powered assembly line that brings together building blocks of frequently used features (60% of all apps are common features/code) and the best human talent from around the world (we buy the excess human capacity from other dev shops whilst they are in between projects). The end result is a bespoke digital product that is delivered efficiently, faster, and more cost effectively. The value of joining the digital economy is being recognized as having exponential impact; from expanding reach to launching new products, and we’re on a mission to be the leading partner in this new world. We think that Builder makes creating software as easy as ordering pizza, so anyone can take an idea from their head and hold it in their hand.

I was immediately reminded of Bubble.is and was hoping to see Bubble in the 'Related Products'. Just curious to know how different is this from Bubble?

@shyam_prasad_reddy that's a great question - and one broadly addresses low code / no code. The key differences are here: 1. You don't need to understand tech to use Builder; using Bubble definitely requires you to have a pretty decent understanding (the first screen of onboarding asks you to do lessons). Much like Squarespace and others, you will probably have an agency in front and this just makes it faster for them. With builder, you don't need anyone else. 2. We don't believe entire front end experience apps/software can be built without human customization, same applies for low code / no code. These platforms require you to do design or confirm to one of the templates, in the case of builder, we use design elements but a human designer still makes your experience unique to you. 3. We give you the source code so you can continue to grow the app, most platforms like Bubble don't. Sorry for the delayed response!

I was told the original team I'd be working with is based out of the US. Once I had signed the contract and submitted a deposit, I was immediately transferred to a team based out of India. This new overseas team couldn't understand what I was looking to accomplish due to language barriers as well as not being able to download similar apps to the one I was looking to build out. I have been working with this overseas team for over 1 year and 3 months; during this process they have gone through 3 different US based points of contacts, all of who have quit. Every time I am left without a contact, I am left in the dark for weeks until someone from India contacts me with "good news", and ever time the "good news" is the function that wasn't working last week is now working but there is a small glitch that they will be working on. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this company.

Pros:

The promise of an affordable, reliable, functional app.

Cons:

I was told the app would take 48 weeks to build out. Today I am well over 48 weeks with nothing to show for it.

@ray_ali @sachinduggal can someone comment on this? I think responding to negative reviews are as imp to get real perspectives. What (if any) did go wrong here?
Sachin Dev Duggal
@ray_ali @sachinduggal @rajsark hey Raj - you are absolutely right - we should respond - however responding would unfortunately mean we need to go into details that's probably going to cause us more problems. All I can say is that Ray is still on our platform - he continued to use it since the post and I see requests as early as March this year for changes or improvements. I'll let @ray_ali confirm his updated comments.

Builder is indeed a platform where I spent just 18 minutes to understand the kind of budget and timeline I am looking at for an idea that has been in my mind for almost 2 years and with traditional dev shops for over 6 weeks.

Started with my first project already and my experience till now has been worth wile.

Can recommend this with faith and confidence.

Cheers!

@Builder Team - Great work so far, good luck with the launch!

Pros:

Almost all industry based templates, humongous list of features and pretty robust pricing mechanism.

Cons:

Would have loved if there was a way to invite collaborators/contributors to the same build card.

The product UI is extremely user friendly, you can just add delete items like a shopping cart experience E- coms deliver us. Pros: Affordable pricing, Great after sales support, full ownership (Source code) Cons: Not much really, some may feel timeline is high but that is evey feature is built and customized for your requirement in hanf instead of replicating existing feature sets or designs. I would strongly recommend to go ahead with a Demo.

After numerous delays, I have yet to receive 50%, although they have got 50% of the payments (around 18,000 Euro). A random person claimed my project (this person is not in the contract nor a contact person), causing my project to be blocked. I had a meeting with Builder ai "legal department" (Mr. Andy Pham) .... I provided them with all the contracts we signed together (Myself and builder ai), bank statements, a whole year of conversations with their representatives to no avail. It has been over three months with no answer from the company, although they keep sending me emails to complete my payments. How can you ask me to complete the fee when blocking my project (Mr.Vikram Agarwal)? In addition, refusing to recognize me (the person you signed a contract with and made the payments) as the owner. I caution anyone to work with them; as of this moment, I've only lost money with them with nothing to show. I'm also losing money to legal costs, as I will be going through the legal routes to protect my assets. Utter unprofessionalism: no matter how many emails or WhatApp messages I send, I get no answer from their sales team, project manager, legal team and operation team. In fact, they try to dodge me as much as possible, and the get mad when I display anger towards the situation. (Mr. Kushank, Rhythm, Andy Pham, and Nishtha Sharma) In all honesty, this has been the worst experience I have had so far; I've lost money, I have no working application to show, and I feel like I'm begging them to do what they are paid and hired to do. If you like to check with me to validate the above, contact me directly by email. I caution anyone to deal with them, and you may be better off with another developer. Everything they have been displaying or not displaying is a problem. There is no trust relationship anymore between me (the client) and the company. I advise all not to trust them at all.
