Any thoughts on using it with say, homekit and the new bridge, so that you don't need a mac always on the local network? I assume it just leverages the http API.

I love f.lux for my Mac and recently upgraded a lot of my fixtures with Hue bulbs. But since I don't always have my Mac running, I would have really liked to see this work independently (perhaps directly integrated with Smartthings or through an App?). In the meantime, I can see this being quite useful for an office like setting!

May I encourage you guys to add support for Echo? Echo can control Hue and already supports a rudimentary "Alexa, dim the lights" instruction.

@patricksrail I own an Echo so this would be personally interesting to me, but I'm not sure exactly what the integration would look like. I've mainly used Brilliance as an "autopilot" mode for Hue, while I use Echo to manually retrieve information and control things. Maybe just getting the two to play nicely together?

I used to use it on Mac, extremely useful but annoying ! It wont stop dimming if you even delete the app!

@mbparsa the app uses a 15 second timer for all of the transitions, could that be what you were seeing? Once the app is either put in off mode or closed you should not see any more activity from Brilliance since it needs to continuously talk to the Hue bridge to keep brightening or dimming lights.

Absolutely love the idea. Crazy enough I was searching for this just last night. Unfortunately while the design is great the execution is sub par. The app freezes constantly and many of the features are unclickable - choosing lights, adjusting time etc. I'm excited for the future improvements but I'm very disappointed having just paid $7 for it.

@amellin94 uh oh, it sounds like something in general is going wrong with the app's UI on your machine. Check if the settings dialog is open. I'll continue testing for edge cases to see if I can get the UI into a state like what you're describing.

@johnciech How was your experience using sunnlight? Do you still use it? Wonder how it compares, the main feature I'm interested in isn't falling asleep, but having all the lights come on in the morning!
