Breakcastr makes a live card break effortlessly look like a TV broadcast instead of a boring webcam feed. It puts fully customizable widgets (realtime sports scores, animations, sounds, text, social media links, etc.) as overlays on top of existing streams to platforms such as Whatnot, eBay, TikTok. Support will soon be added for Twitch and YouTube as well. Put simply, Breakcastr is a web application that becomes a users full fledged production studio!
Hey Product Hunt.
A quick primer, since this is a niche most of you have probably never seen: a "break" is a live show where someone opens sealed trading card boxes on stream. Viewers buy a spot beforehand, usually a team, and whatever gets pulled from that team is theirs. It is a real live-commerce category on Whatnot, eBay Live and TikTok, and it is almost entirely one person running a broadcast alone out of a spare room.
The problem is that most of those streams use just a webcam, while the channels at the top look like a sports broadcast. That gap is production, not effort.
Breakcastr closes it with one link. You paste a URL into OBS and you get a live board of your spots, real game scores, your branding, and celebration animations when a big card hits. The control panel is a separate URL, so you run the whole show from an iPad or your phone while OBS sits untouched on the streaming machine.
Two things I am oddly proud of:
No plugin, ever. Every road led to "install our thing into OBS" and I made that a hard no. The overlay is a plain Browser Source and the controls run over a websocket relay, so there is nothing to install, update, or break on someone else's machine.
It survives OBS. Browser Sources within OBS reload constantly, always at the worst moment. To account for this, the Breakcastr relay re-sends a full state snapshot on a timer, so if OBS reloads mid-break the overlay quietly puts itself back exactly where it was and viewers of the stream never notice anything.
Honest limitation: portrait only right now. Breaks happen at 9:16, so that is where I built first. Landscape for Twitch and YouTube is not there yet.
It is live now if you want to try it. Every account gets a 7-day trial, no card, which is enough to build your look and run a couple of real breaks on it.
If a week is not enough, say so and I will extend it. That goes double if you are a breaker mid-season or you want to stress-test something specific and need more runway. Comment here or find me in the Discord and I will sort it out.
