App is from China and very popular there. Missing translations make it obvious that English is a secondary language, but the app's really nicely designed and usable even so.
@sean_lynch nice hunt! interesting that you say the app is popular - would love to know exactly why. can we get an AMA w. the founder @rrhoover? :)
in all seriousness, trip planning products are very tough to nail and grow to a wide audience.
i've wondered about this for a while, and planning is often viewed as "broken" in the process - i.e. a user searches Google, reviews destinations on TripAdvisor, purchases a guide book, etc. at some point, the user purchases airfare and hotels (or Airbnb) and goes to destination. each of those steps, while not ideal, do work and work well...enough.
more on this from @garrytan's excellent post from 2012: http://blog.garrytan.com/travel-...
@daveambrose - Found BreadTrip in the Wandoujia China App Index report that you can find here: https://chinaappindex.squarespac... and I thought it was notable exactly because this area is so hard to nail! That, and I was really impressed with the design which hasn't always been stellar for some of the big apps in China.
