Hi Hunters! I’m the co-founder of boomApp. We’ve developed a unique technology that can recognize video (or images) with just a photo of that. Our goal is to use our technology to ‘make the world clickable’ -> meaning that you can upload a photo to boomApp and that photo will be recognizable. It’s really easy to use: just point, click and boom! You’ll have access to the digital content linked to that image. If we don’t recognize that image you can make it recognizable! We want to connect the offline with the online world. Some cool Use Cases: - Upload an image of a party and give access to other photos or videos of that party - Upload a slide image, allow your audience to take a picture and boom! Everybody has access to the full presentation and notes Please ASK ME ANYTHING. :)

@joaodmj so like, Shazam for reality?
John da Maia
@chrismessina Thanks for your question. An important thing regarding our technology is that we recognize videos and images; not objects, landmarks, faces or fashion clothes. However, if one of the previous is on an image (or video) we can recognize it (if it’s on our DB). The reason is simple: we process the images and videos on our side and take the unique features of the medias. When we receive the photos from our users we will match that photo with our DB. That's the only way we can have >95% successful matches when the image (or video) is in our DB.

@joaodmj This looks incredible! One small suggestion for the tagline - "point and click" sounds very old school desktop era. How about "snap and tap" instead? It makes more sense anyway since it's a mobile app.
John da Maia
Thanks @hrishio! Great suggestion, that's awesome. Let me know if you tried boomApp and what you think of its usability.

@joaodmj Hey Joao, I just tried the app on a Nexus 5. Sadly, it didn't work for me :( I took pictures of a few objects (books, branded jars of food, "Back to the Future poster", etc) and the app just told me not to take "pictures like these" showing a blurry photo. The photos I took weren't blurry, although the app does seem to have some trouble focusing. Photographing the same things using the native camera app works much better. Does the app only work outdoors? If so, I'll try it again later.

Yay! We can finally kill QR codes once and for all! lol

@dustinwstout Exactly!! :)
Mohammed ElBalkini
That's really awesome, i am trying it now
John da Maia
@mbalkini Thanks! Let us know what you think!

@joaodmj i am suddenly logged out and trying to log in again, but can't. It keep saying connection lost try again later :(
Nuno Moutinho
@mbalkini So sorry about that. We are still fixing some bugs specially those related to internet connection. Please try to uninstall the app and install it again (I know this is no solution but... Beta).
David J Bland
If you made this work on people it would be incredibly creepy and yet amazing.
John da Maia
@davidjbland Thanks for your comment. That's a totally different problem to approach. For now we do it with video and image, and that's something already! :)
