⭐⭐⭐✴️✴️ 3/5 stars from me A good first try but many improvements are needed. - It crashed on me almost as soon as I created my account (log in with Twitter worked fine). - Without asking, it subscribed me to their newsletters (I received 2 emails right away, "You have a new book recommendation on Bookself" and "Bookself Weekly 📚"). - The interface looks nice but is not super intuitive. - Many books in the database are duplicates. Overall, I would not seriously recommend it at the moment... There are many issues that need to be addressed but I remain hopeful it's gonna be great eventually!

Really excited to start using this. So far my two main points of feedback are that: 1. One desktop (and maybe mobile) when I go to add something to a list and I don't have lists, it doesn't tell me how to create lists, but just shows an empty section of the page. 2. When I click on the top left logo on desktop web it takes me to a page to download apps, not the true homepage of using the app. I keep clicking it because I'm used to that logo taking me home on every other website. And one minor suggestion, add default profile pictures for people. When you list out suggested famous people to follow, it looks weird when some have a picture and others don't. Adding another point of feedback. On desktop I don't see a way to edit lists. I accidentally created a list without a name twice now, and they're just stuck there. I can't get rid of them and I can't add the name. Oh, and the chat box that you can open in the bottom right needs a more obvious way to close it. I started using Bookself early on as a way of keeping track of all the books I need to read. It's nice to see what other people and friends are reading and it also allow me to share my books(h)elf. Love the new update with free audio- & ebooks. Looking forward to see what new features you will come up with!

This is an awesome awesome product. As an avid bibliophile who loves to keep track of their reading progress, the UI and easy search for titles put Goodreads to shame. Also a huge fan of being able to sort between traditional reads, audiobooks, and e-books. There are only a couple of things that I think would really enhance this experience for me. - the ability to add start and end dates to each book that I’ve read - being able to indicate the number of times you’ve read the book - virtual bookclubs with others reading the book Overall this is a solid app and I’m excited to make the switch from Goodreads! :)

So I’ve been using this app for a while now and I’m so amazed. A book lover like myself often needs inspiration for which book to read next. With Bookself I no longer need to spend time on asking my friends or google for my next book purchase, this app does the work, and I love it!

Can't recommend...yet. Looks great, but: Goodreads sync is slick but doesn't support enough material yet (synced mid-100s from Goodreads collection >400); won't be really useful until material and algs support real recommendations (I just get a generic list of airport books at the moment). Good luck with further development, current version is really pretty and it would be great to get away from Goodreads!

Seriously good discovery and the platform is true mobile first. I love that I can see books that my family and friends are reading and can text and comment based on their reading habits. And finally I can have my want-to-read list in its right element, which is not Google Keep. Also, my mother is a librarian and approves. G-R-E-A-T app!

Performance on this app is awful. Pretty much unusable. Top picks feel very tech-centric.
