Blender is the free and open source 3D creation suite. It supports the entirety of the 3D pipeline—modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing and motion tracking, video editing and 2D animation pipeline.
Reviewers see Blender as a powerful, unusually broad 3D tool that many rely on for modeling, animation, rendering, compositing, editing, game work, file conversion, and plugin-based workflows. Users repeatedly praise its flexibility, stability, active community, tutorials, and add-ons, while several say the interface is cluttered and the learning curve is steep, especially for beginners. Some also think animation or parts of the API lag behind strengths in modeling. Makers of Netlify and Umbrel describe it as especially effective for product design, realistic materials, and prototyping.
"I've been using Blender for over ten years for all kinds of 3D-related work. I firmly believe in the project and see that over the years it has developed into a tool that competes seriously with industry standards. I use it every day and trust that it will continue to evolve in the wonderful way it has so far. Hopefully, they'll give the UI/UX a review soon. Then it would be almost perfect."
Despite of the fact I spend 90% of my work time using Zbrush for sculpting, Blender is great alternative to any industry standard software that allows to wear many hats as 3d artist.
