Hey you, Product Hunters. My name’s Ilya, I’m CEO and co-founder of Been - tax residency tracker for digital nomads and remote employees. It’s the end of 2022, after pandemic time, I’m trying hard to gather my friends in one location for a New Year’s Eve, as in our digital nomad reality everyone seems to be either moving or traveling. One of my friends for instance has changed more than 13 countries for the past year and was struggling to find her new longer term location. A couple of others are now dealing with prolonging their visas in their expat homes. I'm also preparing the docs for my next adventure. While those issues are more or less ok to deal with, what we really found the most difficult while changing locations is figuring out our tax situations. - where should I pay taxes? - how much do I need to pay? - where to find data and a trustable tax consultant? - how not to overpay or be double taxed? - what are the tax risks? While trying to deal with all of that, we’ve found out that there’s no practical and easy to use solution that would prevent us from making mistakes in the complex international tax environment. That’s how the idea of Been was born… We’ve partnered with the most respectable tax consultants and created a mobile app that would secure you as a nomad, traveler or remote worker from tax risks and finally give you the feeling of safety and security. In it’s beta version the apps takes care of: -Identifying your tax residency based on days and reasons of travel, answering the question: how much and where you need to pay; -Finding tax info on 60 countries for you to be informed and not overpay; -Generating reports on your travels for the tax consultants; -Alerting you when you’re at risk of becoming a tax resident and other tax related events. By 2025 We are planning to build a digital ecosystem with finance, travels and assets in one place to create a cozy digital home for every nomad. Be among the first to try it out!
