What inspired us to build this?
Professional networking is broken. Not in a "could be better" way. In a "recruiters can't tell which candidates are real" way. Spam connection requests, fake profiles, and AI-generated content have made the largest professional network nearly unusable. The push to actually build something came from my co-founder, who spent years in HR and was burning hours every week trying to figure out whether candidates found online were actually who they claimed to be. There was no reliable way to know. That's not a feature gap. That's a trust failure. So we started asking a different question: what if a professional network required verified identity from day one, and every person you meet is confirmed to be real?
What problem were we trying to solve?
You post a job. You get 200 applications. Half the profiles are vague. A chunk are clearly fabricated. You can't tell who's real, who's exaggerating, and who doesn't actually exist. Recruiters don't trust candidate profiles. Job seekers can't cut through the noise. The people doing real work are invisible under a pile of spam and performance theater. We built AuthentaLink so that real, verified people could find each other for genuine reasons: professional growth, career moves, mentorship. No guessing whether the person on the other side of the screen is who they say they are.
How did your approach or process evolve while working on this launch?
We started with verified identity and quickly realized that verification alone isn't enough. People needed a reason to show up authentically, not just prove they're real. That's what led us to build systems that reward genuine engagement over vanity metrics. The L.I.N.K.S. score measures professional reputation across five dimensions (Legitimacy, Influence, Network, Knowledge, Standing) so your credibility is earned through real activity, not self-reported claims. Career Blueprint maps where you've been and where you're heading. Proof of Work lets you show what you've actually done.
The biggest evolution came when we asked: what should verified, trusted professionals actually be able to do here that they can't do anywhere else? That question led us to build a suite of specialized AI agents, each designed around a real career need. There's an agent that monitors your network passively for opportunities. Agents built specifically for hiring professionals who need verified candidates. Agents for job seekers, for business development, for thought leadership. Each one is built around a real professional identity and a real workflow, not a generic chatbot.
But the most exciting shift was realizing we didn't have to build every agent ourselves. We've opened the platform so users can design and publish their own agents in the marketplace, bringing their domain expertise directly into the hub. A seasoned HR professional can build a hiring agent. A sales coach can build an outreach agent. That's the piece that moves AuthentaLink from a product into a platform, and it's what we're most excited to see grow after launch.
