Aurio brings your spending, shared expenses (partner, family, friends), budgets and net worth into one app for iPhone and web. Import statements, log Apple Pay purchases with Shortcuts or scan receipts; no bank connection needed. Ask your finances in plain language and get answers with sources, plus a per-feature table of exactly what the AI sees. Freelancers in Spain get VAT and income tax estimates. Informational only: it never files taxes or moves money. Free to start.

I'm a solo founder in Spain. Every finance app asked me to trust it with my bank data and then explained its AI with one line in a privacy policy. I wanted the opposite: a table, inside the product, listing function by function what leaves your account, what gets tokenised and what is kept, including the uncomfortable rows. I also built on-device categorisation on Apple's Foundation Models, but it scored 77.6% on my test set against an 80% bar, so it stays switched off until it's good enough. Aurio is informational by design: it estimates VAT and income tax for freelancers in Spain but never files anything and never moves money. English and Spanish. Ask me anything about building transparent AI into a finance app.
Hi Product Hunt, I'm Xus, a solo founder in Barcelona, and this is Aurio.
I started Aurio because I wanted an easy, clear way to see all my accounts and investments in one place, and to gather all my invoices so I could work out my quarterly VAT. It's been on the App Store and the web since August, and today I'm bringing it to Product Hunt.
What Aurio does today, on iPhone and web:
- Spending and budgets, from manual entries, statement imports (CSV, Excel, PDF, OFX, Norma 43), Apple Pay purchases via Shortcuts, or receipts you scan or forward by email.
- Shared expenses: free, unlimited groups with balances and settle up, connected to your own budget instead of living in a separate app.
- Net worth: accounts, funds, stocks and crypto with live quotes.
- “Ask your finances”: a chat that answers from your aggregated data and cites where each number comes from.
- For freelancers in Spain: estimates for VAT (Modelo 303) and income tax prepayments (Modelo 130), a tax calendar and a quarterly report for your accountant.
About the AI and your data: identifiers are tokenized before anything reaches a model: an IBAN becomes [IBAN], a raw card line becomes a clean merchant name, and person-to-person payments never go to the AI at all. In Settings there's a “What the AI sees” table, one row per AI feature: what leaves your account, what is protected, what is stored. It includes the uncomfortable row too: to read a receipt, the whole image goes up, because reading it is the point.
What to try first:
1. Import a statement from your bank (free plan) and see how it categorizes.
2. Create a group for a trip or a shared flat.
3. Open “What the AI sees” before you ask the AI anything.
What Aurio does NOT do:
- It doesn't move money, file taxes or act as an accountant. The tax figures are estimates to help you plan.
- No live bank connection: data comes in through statement imports, Shortcuts capture and email forwarding.
- The tax part is Spain-only. Budgets, groups and net worth work anywhere, in English or Spanish.
- Android is in review with Google, not out yet.
- On-device AI isn't switched on. I built categorization on Apple's Foundation Models, but it scored 77.6% on my test set against an 80% bar, so it stays off until it's good enough.
I'd really like blunt feedback: what confuses you in the first five minutes, what would make you drop your spreadsheet, and anything in the AI table that doesn't sit right with you. I'll be here all day answering.
I'm amazed how quickly you are evolving this app taking into account user's feedback.
@chezlui Thanks a lot, Chelu! A good part of what changed lately came straight from people like you telling me what got in their way, so please keep it coming. What's the one thing that still bugs you in Aurio today?
