I wanted to write you a proper thank-you for creating such a smart and genuinely impactful app.
AppHalt has massively improved my day-to-day workflow. I’m often switching between multiple apps, and before this, I had no real control over background resource hogs silently eating up RAM and draining my battery. It felt like my Mac was working harder than it needed to, especially when I just wanted to focus on one or two apps at a time.
Now, with AppHalt, I can literally pause the noise. Whether it’s a heavy browser window or a memory-hungry tool I’m not using at the moment, I can halt it temporarily and my system breathes easier. I’ve noticed smoother performance, and better battery life. Honestly, the peace of mind alone is worth it.
It’s such a simple concept, but the execution is what blew me away. You’ve made something that feels like it should’ve been built into macOS all along and you’ve done it cleanly, reliably, and with real care for user control.
Keep going strong, this app has serious potential to become an essential tool for power users, students, creatives, and anyone who values control over their system performance. I’m excited to see how it evolves.
AppHalt
Truly, thank you so much for this kind and incredibly motivating feedback 🙏
You’ve described the app better than I ever managed to on the homepage :D
This is exactly why I built AppHalt: to give Mac users a simple, elegant way to quiet things down without having to force quit everything.
Knowing that you’re feeling that sense of control, clarity, and calm means everything to me.
You’re absolutely right: this kind of feature should exist natively in macOS, but until it does, I’m thrilled that AppHalt can fill that gap :)
I’m already working on the next improvements, with even more customization and better user experience.
Thanks again for your ideas, the support, it truly means the world.
