Hey Product Hunters! 👋 I built API Tester because I wanted a lightning-fast, native macOS API testing tool that feels right at home in your menubar. As a developer, I found myself constantly needing to test APIs throughout the day, but I didn't want to switch contexts or open heavy apps. 🎯 Why I made this: Wanted instant access to API testing without disrupting my workflow Needed something that launches in milliseconds from the menubar 🚀 Key features: Lives in your menubar, always ready but never in your way Support for all HTTP methods Custom headers and authentication JSON pretty-printing and syntax highlighting One-click JSON export HTML preview mode Super lightweight and fast It's the API testing tool I always wanted: minimal, fast, and focused on the essentials. Built with Electron and React, but optimized to feel like a true native app. Would love to hear your thoughts and feature suggestions! 🙏

I totally support your approach. I also hate switching the context. Just curious, didn't you think creating a Raycast integration would be a good fit? It feels like you have a lot in common

simple app but good idea

Super slick little API tool. Love that it just lives in the menu bar. No switching tabs, no clutter. 👌

Yeah Benjamin! This is too interesting. Many times I found my self looking something like this. For sure, I’m gonna give it a try and I’ll be back with deeper feedback! Congrats on the launch btw

An unexpected way to use it, but also quite novel

Cool! As a developer one thing I'd be appreciating from this kind of tool is is if it stays simple. I've used some of the other tools in the past and I loved them in the beginng but later the interface became overloaded with features I barely use and installation size grew signifivantly larger. Good luck 👋
