The problem was never the shoot. Once a hero still is approved, someone still spends the afternoon cropping it into 1:1, 4:5, 9:16, 16:9, banners, sometimes print. Heads get cut. Type hits the edge. The client asked for eight sizes and twelve markets, and the clock is the crop.
Smart crop makes that worse (it throws pixels away). “Make me a new scene” tools make a different photo. I wanted the thing in the middle: keep the approved subject, grow the canvas to the ratio the media plan actually asked for.
