At first I was frustrated you had to sign up first, I thought this was something like mailinator. I use mailinator for my user testing startup. The testers use it when they have to sign up for an account to test a website, software, or whatever.
I've started to use rules in my email to manage spam, but this is a better idea.

@nemmy, how do you plan to monetize the service (meaning, how will you keep the service alive over time!)? I used OtherInbox for years before they pivoted to a different product since the exact service you're offering apparently didn't work as a business for them. I can tell you it's tedious migrating away from a setup like this once you've used these custom email addresses with hundreds of accounts, so it's not a trivial decision to use your service. Thanks!
I set up a wildcard email and a filter on my inbox so that any email received to an address beginning with "trap-" ends up in a special folder. This lets me add metadata to the address like trap-28082017-producthunt@mymail..., so then I know who sold my info to whom and when if the email appears in someone else's list in the future.
