Hello! You may find this app totally bonkers, but we created it being extremely tired of all social media (and even going crazy a bit..). BACKGROUND --> I used to post 4 times a week on LinkedIn for many months, until I just couldn't make myself open the app anymore. Despite having made some great connections and some friends that felt very real, I couldn't bare the grind anymore. THINKING PROCESS --> So I started asking myself all those questions — do we always seek to get some kind of reward from online comms? Is there always an agenda or a pressure to BE someone? What about just the simplicity of exchange, does it have value in itself? What about the possibility to give to an unknown person, when you comment not to feed the algo or earn karma but just because you want to do something nice for a person you don't even know? TA-DAA --> So, meet PingTheWorld (dot app). This is how it goes: You write. We find one person, somewhere on the planet, and deliver your message. They may reply once — or not at all. Either way, the exchange is complete. No profiles, no threads, no way to find each other again. This is how you hug the planet, one ping at a time. HOW IT WORKS --> In other words you send a message anonymously to unknown user, and you MAY receive one answer. And that's it. No profiles, no pictures or links, no cookies. Just one human interaction at a time (with a rigorous moderation system, of course). And a pledge to never AI-generate any replies or sent messages. It's quite fun, actually. Try it, it's FREE!
