Hi there!
I’ve picked up poker as a big hobby a couple years ago and currently play in person around once a week. To get better beyond some basic online youtube videos I feel like there were two main avenues, each with their own issues:
Studying GTO - I’ve never seen live opponents play close to GTO, especially at the lower stakes, and paying for custom node locks is extremely expensive and OD for the more casual player life myself. Not only that, I had a hard time understanding why certain frequencies were what they were, and had to do a lot of connecting dots with general poker fundamental videos/articles that I had to dive deep into.
Buying online courses / private poker coaching - often pricey, and requiring a lot of active effort. As a casual player I was looking more for a place to consult after some big hands or an easy way to get some practice in rather than spending hundreds of dollars on some online advice I wasn’t sure was actually going to deliver value.
Outside of poker I lead agentic AI for my company in SF, so I decided to make an app to solve my own issues: https://antepoker.ai/
Currently it has three main features:
Tracking – free robinhood-esk modern tracking visualization since most these days are outdated and hide analytics behind paywalls.
Hand analysis using AI – traditionally LLMs are quite bad at poker, so I’ve backed up some agents with relevant GTO + poker fundamental context to get actual valuable advice about each decision made in a hand.
Practicing against agents - simulate hands against LLMs with poker fundamentals and get feedback for each decision made.
I just launched on web and ios, hope it helps anyone along their poker journey, would be great to hear feedback as well!
