Hey Product Hunt!
I'm Samriddha ๐
I built Anime Tracker because existing tools felt outdated. MAL is clunky, AniList lacks alerts, and none of them had a real social layer or a Chrome extension worth using.
So I built animetracker.lol, a modern anime tracker with:
- Smart recs: Analyzes your completed list and asks what you're in the mood for
- Buddy system: Add friends and recommend anime to each other (like sharing reels)
- Sequel alerts: Monthly notifications when shows you've finished get a sequel
- Series folders: All Re:Zero seasons in one folder, automatically
- Public profiles: anime avatars, social links, shareable URLs
- Chrome extension: Airing notifications from any tab
- AniList import: Bring your existing list in one click
And the best part? It's all free forever. Future monetization is cosmetic packs only and no features will be locked behind paywalls. If you want to support the project, you can grab a cosmetic pack. That way, you get a fun skin and I get some donations. Win-Win.
Would love feedback on what to build next ๐
Try it: https://animetracker.lol
Also, we just launched a Discord community: https://discord.gg/AtDUykhnG4
First 100 people to join will get a founding users special badge that they can showcase on their public profile ๐

@samy_0202ย I have no idea that people have issues knowing what to watch next, but I can totally understand some might have this pain. Sequel alerts are actually quite cool and smart recs. However, how is this better than following my series on social media (for sequel alerts) and talking with any AI chat to get smart recs?
@paul_from_dentroย Fair questions, both worth answering:
On sequel alerts vs social media: Social works for popular shows where the studio's marketing team posts everywhere. It breaks down for less mainstream stuff. If you've watched 50+ anime, you can't realistically follow every studio on Twitter to track which shows might get continuations. The app does this automatically for every show on your completed list, not just the ones whose studios you happen to follow.
On smart recs vs AI chat: Two real differences. First, the app looks at your actual completed list with ratings, not your description of your taste, so the input is more accurate than what you'd type into ChatGPT. Second, it filters for stuff that actually exists and is matched to your watch history. Generic AI chat tends to hallucinate titles or recommend the same 10 popular shows everyone gets recommended. That being said, I do plan to integrate some kind of AI into this to make the recommendations more random in the future, but constrained to verified anime data so the hallucination problem doesn't apply.
Also, if someone's a casual watcher who only watches mainstream shows, you're right that social media + AI chat probably covers them. The app is built more for people who watch a lot, want their taste analyzed, and don't want to manually track sequel announcements for 50+ shows. PS: My personal watch list has 500+
Thanks for the pushback. These are the kinds of questions that sharpen the positioning.
What's the one feature your current anime tracker is missing? Genuinely asking. Top voted suggestion gets built this week.
