Professional motion design, done by an agent. Animater captures your real web page — actual fonts, brand — and an AI agent turns it into a cinematic video: camera work, kinetic type, SFX, music, export. Bring your own Claude Code or Codex. Local-first, on your Mac. Launch videos in minutes, not weeks.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 solo founder here.
I built Animater because professional motion graphics is still stuck in the keyframe era. A 60-second launch video costs weeks in After Effects or thousands at an agency — so most products launch with a screen recording and a prayer.
Animater is a Mac app where an AI agent does motion design for you — and it works differently from AI video tools:
1. It animates your real product. It captures your live web page — actual DOM, fonts, brand — and animates that. No generated fake UI, no screen recordings.
2. Bring your own agent. It drives Claude Code or Codex under your existing subscription. No new AI bill.
3. Finished film, not a draft. Camera work, kinetic type, a curated SFX library, generated music, mastered audio — export and post.
Proof: the Kimi K3 launch video in this post was made entirely in Animater — from the live kimi.com pages, arena.ai and Artificial Analysis, in one session of prompts.
I'd genuinely love to see what you point it at — and I'll be here all day answering everything. What's the first video you'd make?

💎 Pixel perfection
the fact it drives your existing Claude Code/Codex instead of shipping its own model is the smart call here, no extra AI bill like you said. curious how it handles a page with a lot of scroll-triggered animations already baked in - does it treat those as part of the "real" capture or does it just grab a static DOM snapshot and animate from there?

@omri_ben_shoham1 thank you for the question. And actually both of them. It captures those animations you website has and can display and even build on top of them!

Congrats on the launch. One thing I'd love to see is a timeline-based editor for fine-tuning the AI-generated cuts before export, since I'd want to nudge a specific camera move or trim a section without re-running the whole agent.

@mesuttaml Actually, it already works like this) Check it out

This looks really solid. Most AI animation tools I've tried feel like a gimmick, but the motion here actually holds up, which is the part everyone else gets wrong.
One honest bit of feedback: the 7-day trial needing a card upfront made me hesitate before trying it. That card wall tends to kill the impulse to just test something, even when people want to. Might be worth letting people feel it first. Either way, nice work, upvoted.
captured our actual landing page down to the custom fonts, which i honestly did not expect, and the camera moves felt pretty cinematic for something i kicked off in five minutes.

Yo this is fire.
Finally an AI tool that works with the actual product instead of making fake screens. Huge W, excited to see where this goes. Congrats! 🚀
