Today, I am thrilled to be launching Angelo. I could not find a simple way to see my angel portfolio clearly, so I built one. I wanted a simple, easy to use, reliable dashboard with DPI, RPI, TVPI and IRR without complex features, designed for the way angels invest. Angel investing often starts simply: a few investments, a few SPVs, a few SAFEs. Then as the number grows, the basic questions become surprisingly difficult to answer: - How much capital have I actually deployed? - What is my residual exposure by company? - Which investments drive portfolio performance? - How much return is realised versus still on paper? - How concentrated is the portfolio? - What does performance look like across USD, EUR, GBP, and CHF? Most tools I found were either too generic, too fund-oriented, too complex, or still required spreadsheets on the side, to do the real work. So I decided to build my own. Angelo is a simple dashboard for angel investors, bringing positions, distributions, residual value, TVPI, DPI, RVPI, and IRR into one place, with support for historical and current FX rates. It also includes views by company, vehicle, stage, exposure, concentration, cash-flow timeline, and performance attribution, including a return-dispersion view that makes power-law dynamics visible. After talking to various angels in my network, I realised the struggle was shared, so I have decided to build Angelo and make it available as a subscription. Moreover, as a native community builder, I also decided to propose two plans: - one plan for solo angels, willing basic performance and allocation analytics, and - another plan, Angelo+, for active angel investors who want advanced analytics and peer intelligence. The biggest lesson so far is creating a clean, consistent record of every cash movement, valuation assumption, distribution, and FX conversion over time. I believe Angelo greatly achieves that.
