Hey, I am Karthik, creator of AnchorWrite. As an aspiring researcher and lifelong student, I make a lot of hand-written notes. OCR usually sucks for my handwriting, and whenever I want to review my notes for a particular concept, I am forced to read everything upto that point, which is a clear annoyance.
I made AnchorWrite to solve this problem for me, and am sharing it here to hopefully help a few more people. AnchorWrite is free, is open source and is completely client-side, meaning none of your data will leave your system. There is no lock-in, you get back your original PDF, but now it is searchable!
Looking forward to feedback/suggestions!

Update! You can upload previously tagged PDFs which have been tagged on AnchorWrite, and this will automatically restore your progress. You would also be able to add additional pages to your tagged PDF and then upload.

As someone who has terrible handwriting, I really like this idea... Is it just for English or all languages?

@jeffrey_porterpf While I have not tested this, I think it should work with other languages as long as you can type it from some keyboard. The tags are to be created manually by you, there is no AI or anything which processes the PDF automatically. And any PDF can be uploaded, so there is no restriction on that.
Please test with other languages and let me know if there are any bugs.
