How does Anago decide what to recommend for someone who’s starting from scratch, like is there a quick intake or does it just throw options at you?
@iozamaratl92251 good question! I currently have the onboarding include a very simple 4 question quiz to determine what you like, and what would make a reading session exciting for you. Based on the user’s selections, I match them with one, two, or three books from a pool of more than 30 books that I’ve either personally read or vetted by checking reader recommendations, reviewing online feedback, and personally evaluating the book’s summary for genres I’m less familiar with.
How does the recommendation engine actually figure out where you are in your reading journey, is it based on a quiz upfront or does it learn over time as you use the app?
the streak system actually feels different, mine reset after a rough week and it just nudged me to pick a shorter book instead of shaming me. nice touch for someone who hasn't finished a book in ages
