What inspired you to build this? I wanted AI companions that feel real—not generic chatbots. Most AI feels robotic and forgetful. I built Amora to create authentic, personalized connections where the AI remembers who you are and responds like a friend. What problem were you trying to solve? Many people feel lonely or want someone to talk to without judgment. Existing AI chatbots feel robotic and forgetful—they don’t remember what matters to you or respond like a real person. I built Amora to create authentic AI companions that remember your preferences, respond naturally, and feel like texting a friend. The goal is meaningful connection, not just another chatbot. How did your approach evolve while preparing for launch? I started with OpenAI but switched to Claude for better personality. I added a semantic memory system so companions remember details across conversations. I refined responses to be shorter and more human-like—1–2 sentences instead of paragraphs. I fixed memory extraction issues, added retry logic for API errors, and improved language detection. Each iteration moved closer to the goal: making it feel like texting a friend, not talking to a bot.
