A shared library for Commodore Amiga written in Motorola 68020 assembly. 50+ functions across 7 modules: memory management, file I/O, graphics/bitplane ops, string processing, IFF/AIFF parsing, math conversions, Intuition/GadTools UI, and a custom windowing system (REI). Compatible with KickStart 3.0+. Full C interface with SAS/C pragmas included. Public Domain β use it however you want. Built by someone who still writes assembly in 2026.
Hey Product Hunt! π
I'm Giovambattista, and I've been writing assembly code for the Commodore Amiga since the late '80s.
Amiga Assembly Library is a collection of 50+ functions written in pure Motorola 68020 assembly β covering everything from memory management and file I/O to graphics, UI components, and a custom windowing system (REI).
Why release it now? The Amiga community is still very much alive, and I wanted to give back with a well-documented, Public Domain library that anyone can use, study, or extend. The docs site includes full API reference, C interface headers, and working examples.
Whether you're a retro computing enthusiast, an assembly learner, or just curious about what low-level programming looks like on classic hardware β I'd love to hear your thoughts.
