Alpoker is a competitive word game inspired by poker mechanics. Instead of suits and numbers, you play with alphabet cards. Form words to clear your hand and outplay your opponent. Three modes: • Classic – First to empty their hand wins • Score – Chain words for multipliers • Ban Card – 4 random letters are disabled each game Play solo or battle friends in local LAN mode. Less luck. More strategy. More words.

Hey everyone 👋
I’m the creator of Alpoker — thanks so much for checking it out today.
This game started as a small experiment:
What would happen if poker mechanics were applied to vocabulary instead of numbers?
I’ve always loved competitive games, but most word games feel either educational or slow-paced. I wanted something tense, tactical, and fast — where timing matters as much as vocabulary.
A few design decisions I struggled with:
• Should banned letters be predictable or fully random?
• How aggressive should score multipliers scale?
• Is LAN multiplayer enough, or should I push toward online ranked matches?
Right now Alpoker focuses on pure gameplay — no accounts required, no friction. Just open and play.
I’d really love feedback on:
– Which mode feels the most balanced?
– Does Ban Card mode feel fair or frustrating?
– Would you want global matchmaking?
I built this as a language strategy game, not a learning tool. If it feels competitive rather than educational, then I did something right.
Thanks again for the support — I’ll be here all day replying to comments.
