I built Airwell because counting my own breaths defeated the point. Every time I tried box breathing or 4-7-8 from a list of instructions, half my attention went to holding the count in my head instead of just breathing. The one thing I was supposed to let go of, I couldn't.
So I stripped it down to one moving shape. A circle expands and contracts on a CSS transition timed to the current phase, so the motion of the circle is the timer. There's no number to track, no countdown ticking down at you. When a phase ends, the next one starts, and it loops until you stop it.
Four patterns ship: Box (4-4-4-4), 4-7-8, Relax, and Coherent. You pick one and the circle does the counting for you. No account, no onboarding, no data leaving your browser. Dark by default, light if your system prefers it. One screen, one shape, nothing else competing for your eyes.
I put it on the web first because a breathing tool should have zero friction between wanting to breathe and actually doing it. The App Store version exists for people who want it on their home screen without a tab open.
Airwell is $0.99 upfront on iOS, free on the web.
