AirTulip Sleep brings clean air into your bedroom with a headboard with an integrated powerful air purification system. It uses laminar flow and creates a clean air zone where you sleep. With a design that blends in nicely with your existing interior.
@sean_errey2 Thanks! It is actually a horizontal flow through the fabric itself, and yes it is filtered. We installed filters more efficiently than HEPA called ULPA, normally only used in the highest grade cleanrooms.
Hey Product Hunters :)
Thank you @bramk for hunting AirTulip Sleep!
I’m Arjen, Founder & CEO at AirTulip.
My background is in Aerospace Engineering and I have my Ph.D. in Aerodynamics/Acoustics.
I will share a short story about how AirTulip started. When I was young I joined the maintenance team for cleanroom equipment at a large airport. In the booth, one of the other workers lit a cigarette. Instead of a plume of smoke, the cigarette drew a line in the air straight down. It felt like magic—and you didn’t smell it at all. Now with my PhD in aero I know exactly why and how that happened.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, I recalled that magical moment and created technologies to protect people.
I decided to integrate the same principles into a product for the home, the AirTulip Sleep. It is a one-of-its-kind headboard that creates a completely shielded pocket of 100% clean air where you sleep.
AirTulip Sleep operates like a clean room, using laminar flow, in which a stream of particles flow in layers without any mixing.
We are now live on Kickstarter where you can pre-order the AirTulip Sleep.

What's the noise level like? Cool idea, not sure I could get my spouse on board though.
@aliaaa Thanks for your question! The flow is quiet, slow, and steady over a large area. You won't feel a draft, as it is from the laminar plug of air. In order to get a restful night of sleep, we didn't only focus on a serene gentle flow speed free of chaos, but also on a whisper-quiet operation. We use acoustic engineering and expensive oversized fans running much slower than they can to create a restful night. In day-modus, the AirTulip Sleep generates much less sound than an AC unit, and around the level of someone whispering.
It's currently below 30db and we're further optimizing acoustics as we speak to make it even more quiet.
A healthier night's sleep is a good idea for everybody 😉

This is neat! What are some of the features and benefits and where can I buy this?
@olga_yermolenko Thanks! The features of the AirTulip Sleep include a powerful day mode (as strong as 10 air purifiers), a quiet night mode (that lets you sleep in a completely clean air zone, tested and verified by the Eindhoven University of Technology), two ULPA filter(s) (one for Twin-size) (above HEPA filtering), convenient storage. Our cool and handy optional features are ambient lighting, wireless smartphone charging, USB chargers, and reading lighting.
The benefits are sleeping in clean air, which improves sleeping quality so you can wake up rested and ready for the day. Indoor environments are more polluted than outdoors and air pollution is the cause of several environmental-related diseases such as asthma, allergies, and sleep apnea. We wanted to provide a solution to provide people with a safe environment to sleep in and get a healthier night's sleep. 😴
Aside from this, we also wanted it to be a great experience and a product that seamlessly integrates into the bedroom. That's why it's designed as a headboard.
