Airbolt makes it really easy to connect with LLMs. Normally, you need to set up a backend or worry about keeping your keys safe, which slows things down. With Airbolt, you just add their SDK and you’re ready to go.
I like that it already takes care of the important security parts, so I don’t have to think about it. It feels simple, safe, and saves a lot of time. Perfect for anyone who wants to focus on building their app instead of backend setup.
Excited to see how this grows!
Hi Product Hunt Community!
As builders and founders, we love the “backend-less” stack: Stripe for payments, Supabase for data, Clerk for auth, PostHog for analytics. But the moment we add even a basic AI feature, we end up having to spin up a backend just to hide API keys, reimplement token-based per-user rate limits, set spend limits, and integrate with the application authentication. So we built Airbolt.
How does it work?
Sign up, add our SDK, and start making calls to OpenAI’s API from your app.
What sets Airbolt apart?
Zero backend: Drop in a prebuilt React chat component or lightweight client and you’re live.
Security by default: Short-lived JWTs, origin allowlists, IP throttling, and encrypted provider keys keep secrets out of your repo, app, and LLM context.
Control plane, no redeploys: Switch models, prompts, and per-project settings from the self-service dashboard.
Cost & abuse guardrails: Token-based per-user rate limits and spend caps so bad actors can’t spike your bill.
Vendor-neutral: Start with OpenAI today; swap providers/models from config, with automatic failover on the roadmap.
Cross-platform: Web today, native mobile and more coming soon.
Who is Airbolt For?
AI micro-SaaS founders: ship value faster with less maintenance burden and best practices built in.
Product managers: validate AI features this week, not next quarter.
Vibe coders: keep secrets out of your source, app, and LLM context while you move fast.
Prototypers & hackathon teams: demo in a night; safe by default so you don’t blow your API budget.
Extension & plugin builders (Chrome, WordPress, Discord/Slack bots): call LLMs from purely client environments.

@mark_watson_28 I love it when I find a product that hits on a pain point I have. Thank you for launching, can’t wait to check this out!!!
@mark_watson_28 @jason_rivard Thanks for checking it out!
Congrats on the launch!
@lakshya_singh thanks!!
@lakshya_singh Appreciate your support!
This is super relevant, I’ve hit the same wall adding AI features to my projects and something like Airbolt would’ve saved me a ton of time.
@aaroncodeconda really appreciate it! Let’s connect so we can ensure Airbolt works for you moving forward
@aaroncodeconda This is exactly why we are building Airbolt! As we were building more and more projects with LLM SDKs, we kept building the same backend proxies over and over (mainly to protect keys and prevent people from misusing them and running up our costs.)
Aside from the obvious time saved setting up boilerplate security and configuration, we're super excited to see what other advanced functionality we can unlock for our users in the future. Lots more to come!
@irene_morrison1Â thanks!
We secure your provider keys on our servers encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM). They are only decrypted on the server when a chat/API request is made via the SDK. The only credential exposed to the client is a project identifier (which you can easily delete or rotate). Abuse of this identifier is mitigated through rate limiting, monitoring, and origin allow-list.
@ali_hassan19 Yes! We’re also still investigating real use cases for multi-provider support, especially as it relates to automatic failover and, more generally, dynamic dispatch.
@safdar_abbas3Â Thanks, one of our goals is to reduce the time from signing up to first LLM API call in your app!
Congratulations on the launch, Mark Watson and your team, the product looks awesome. I really like the fact that the product is superfast and easy to use. Wishing the product and team all the best
@oghenetega_mudiaga thanks so much!
