I built AI Files because I was drowning in PDFs — invoices, contracts, bank statements — and could never find anything.

The idea: upload a document, and AI reads it automatically, extracts key metadata (date, amount, sender, IBAN, line items...), and makes everything searchable in natural language.

Privacy was a core requirement from day one: the service runs on IONOS infrastructure in Germany — no data leaves Europe.

It also sends email reminders when invoices or contracts have upcoming due dates, so nothing slips through the cracks.

Stack: Next.js + Fastify + PostgreSQL/pgvector, pdftotext + Tesseract + LightOnOCR for OCR, Mistral for AI — all on IONOS (Germany).
